Frequently Asked Questions

How is Conduit Advantage different from other tutoring services?

Most tutoring services hire generalists: college students and/or teachers who work across all subjects. Conduit tutors are specialists trained specifically in methods for learning differences: Orton-Gillingham for reading, multisensory math, The Writing Revolution executive function coaching. As well, our tutors are trained to work online using document cameras and other tech to ensure student learning and growth. We don’t just help with homework; we build foundational skills.

We do not bill insurance directly, but we can provide documentation for FSA/HSA reimbursement. Some families have successfully used educational therapy benefits for reimbursement.  We recommend that you contact your insurance provider to check your coverage. We are also an approved provider in several states’ scholarship funds (North Carolina, Indiana, West Virginia, South Carolina, Arizona, and more coming soon).

If your child has been diagnosed with dyslexia, ADHD, dysgraphia, or other learning differences, they benefit most from specialists trained in evidence-based methods for LD students. As well, if traditional tutoring hasn’t worked, or if your child is bright but mysteriously struggling, specialist support is likely the right fit.

We work with students of all ages from K-12.

It varies. Some families use us for intensive intervention over 6-12 months, while others maintain ongoing support throughout middle and high school. We customize the timeline to your child’s needs.  The best part is and what also makes Conduit stand out is that your child has the same qualified, trained tutor for all sessions.  Your child will establish a relationship with this tutor which will make this process much more efficient and beneficial to your child.

Students need a computer with webcam, reliable internet, and ideally a document camera (we can recommend affordable options, usually under $100). We provide all instructional materials digitally.
